On a Personal note…
Hello! I’m Lou Loban, the owner of Marathon Wear and I just want to say -THANK YOU- for spending some time with us. I'd love to meet you at a marathon, just ask for me by my running name: "Mile 0".
Here is a little about me. I have run 29 marathons and I am working on Boston Qualifying...my last 4 marathons were Chicago and New York City 2008 and Bay State in Lowell, Ma. in '09 and Providence, R.I. in '10, however I had injuries in all and it was slow to the finish and that I did...in recovery, now for my next assault at Boston Qualifying. Maybe Ing-Miami or Portland or Seattle marathon(s); who knows, since there are so many, "fun" marathons to choose.
Now, many times in life there are ups and downs; kind of like running a marathon (those of you who have run one or two know) some times it just gets to the point, usually just before the big race or in the 20th mile, we say to ourselves and anyone who’d listen: “What are we doing??? We finish and say “ that wasn’t so bad” like Rocky… and the next day we are back for more after a “never-ever” again thought. Hours, days, weeks, months of training and we are set, but the weather is bad, we didn’t fuel right…we get on and give it a go and it ends up being the best! Who’s said I’d never make it? Half marathons are gaining in popularity, but I still feel a “cup” half- full is not, as good as, a full glass. I, however, can remember when a full glass was too much. Training is everything! The day-to-day building that we do in life gets us over the “WALL”. We live, we learn. I wanted to mention things I’ve learned, because I care: seek help on the downs; share the glory on the ups. And lastly, YOU can do it! All it takes is some time and some training. Persevere! Get help, share, train, be happy, compete with yourself and at the end, your medal awaits you. For this day - wear it proudly! You deserve it! We at Marathon Wear salute YOU, the Marathoner!
